Doesn't work after WIN 10 April update
Hey dude,
Firstly let me thank you for the wonderful screensaver you’ve created – it’s the best thing I’ve seen!
However, I just wanted to tell you that after the April update, it does not work in Windows 10, and I guess I’m not the only one who has this problem. Just a black screen and then it disappears.
Is there any possibility to fix the damn thing? I haven’t had the sw for long, but I’ve really gotten used to it, I can tell you that.
Please help us out, thanks in advance. It’s the best one there is.

Hello Jamillos,
Thanks for posting.
I can't tell which screensaver you are referring to.
Please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thanks, Jamillos, I've linked it to this page (above) so others can find it easily.
First, please make sure you have the latest version of the Aerial screensaver. This is currently v6.1, released on February 5, 2017. If you downloaded it from here, i.e. on Screensavers Planet, you'll have to download it anew because we were actually also lagging behind a little. I have just now updated the file to the latest version.
(Note that we did not create the screensaver, but included it in our archive.)
Here's direct download link to the file: AerialScreensaversWin.zip (Windows only)
I understand you haven't had it long, so what version you now have will depend on where you got the screensaver from. Anyway, I hope this fixes the issue for you. It seems to be working fine here on Windows 10, and I, too, have had the April update.

Unfortunately, still doesn’t work. I’ve downloaded this version, but no luck. I don’t get it.

The only dependencies the screensaver has are Windows Media Player (installed by default) and the .NET Framework 4.6. The April update has upgraded .NET to version 4.7, but that does not seem to be a problem on my machine.
Someone with the nickname ja1980 posted a similar issue on Github, where the source code for the screensaver is published. Was that you, by any chance? I see there was no reply. In another issue, a user recommends updating the drivers of your graphics card, if possible, and running the "sfc /scannow" command from the command prompt. It's a different issue, but it also seems to have started with the April update (1803).
Other than that, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas. We are, unfortunately, fully dependent on the software author and/or Microsoft to fix the problem.

Framework seems to be 4.7. No, that guy wasn’t me, I’ve only asked here.
Oh well, I am pretty sure it has to do with the update, and to be honest, this is far from being the only problem I’ve had since.
So I guess the best thing will be to wait for future OS updates. In any case, thanks for the help and all the screensavers. Looking forward to the Aerial one to start working again!Jamillos6 years ago
