How and why do you have free screen savers if nothing comes attached to them?

I am so leery of d/l anything so I would like to know what benefit you get if it comes w/o ads, spyware, trojans, or any of the other profit making tools

  • That's a great question. Thank you for asking.

Screensavers Planet is monetized through the advertisements you see on most pages, as well as the commission we receive when you purchase a shareware (i.e. non-free) screensaver after downloading it from here. So while all screensavers are free of adware, spyware, viruses and other nuisances, our website, by necessity, does contain advertisements. Without them, we would not be able to offer this service.

Many of our competitors do both: they show advertisements, and then also bundle their screensaver downloads with adware that is often difficult to opt out of or uninstall afterwards. They probably make a lot more money, but we made a conscious decision to only show advertisements on the website, and to keep all screensavers clean and safe for our users to download. After all, if we were looking for screensavers ourselves, we would not want to run the risk of infecting, damaging or slowing down our computers, so we would not want to do that to you either.

We hope, of course, that our users will appreciate this and return to our website whenever they need a new screensaver. This, we believe, is a much better long-term strategy than making a quick buck off the backs of our users, and possibly the reason why we have grown to become the most-visited screensaver website.

I hope that answers your question. Thank you for visiting!
