Is there an updated requirements to work on W-8.1 x 64 Google Chrome
I used to have this screensaver, years ago on a XP. I recently set it up as a screensaver and the setting work, and I'm able to preview it, but it won't work on it's own.
Do I need to download something else that will, make it work? I love this screensaver!
Thanks in advance.

Hello Rebecca,
Very strange, I can't get it to work either. It's same thing you describe: it works fine from the Screen Saver Settings panel, but won't start after the wait time.
It's not a case of updated requirements, the screensaver is quite old and hasn't been updated to ensure compatibility with newer versions of Windows.
There's a workaround that you could try. It involves the "Screen Launcher" screensaver that allows you to launch any application on your computer (instead of an actual screensaver) when the wait time is up.
In this case, we would only use it to actually start the Snowy Scenes screensaver, since that's where the original screensaver seems to have trouble.
You can download Screen Launcher via this link. Right-click the link, choose Save As, then ideally you would place it in the Windows folder on your hard drive straight away. If Google Chrome complains it doesn't have access to the folder, you'll need to store it somewhere else first (e.g. your desktop, or your Downloads folder) and then manually copy it to the Windows folder using the File Explorer.
Once the file is in the Windows folder, open up the Screen Saver Settings panel, find "Screen Launcher" in the list, select it, then click "Settings". There you'll be asked to select a program file to run when Screen Launcher starts.
In most cases, you can copy and paste the following line into the box:
C:\Windows\Snowy Scenes.scr /s
Make sure you include the last "/s". If the above is not the location of the Snowy Scenes screensaver on your computer, use the "Browse" button to locate it.
Then click "OK" to save the settings, and "OK" again to exit the Screen Saver Settings panel (or click "Apply" to keep the panel open just in case).
Now, when the wait time is expired, the Snowy Scenes screensaver should start!
If you'd like to change any of the settings of Snowy Scenes, you can still find it in the list in the Screen Saver Settings panel, and any changes you make there will also work when Screen Launcher starts the screensaver for you.
I hope this works for you, too. Please let me know if you have any questions.

It worked, and I have been enjoying it much.
