Removal of an unwanted image on the opening screen
An image I copied from a web page has lodged itself on the opening screen of windows 11. How can I delete this nuisance?

This is called the Lock Screen on Windows. It has three settings: Windows Spotlight, Picture, or Slideshow. If you've chosen Picture, does the image you're seeing appear under Recent Pictures in the Lock Screen settings panel?
(You can get there via Settings > Personalization > Lock screen)
If it's set to Slideshow, it will automatically and randomly pull an image from your Pictures folder, or any other folder you choose. So if you want to get rid of that one image, make sure it's not contained within any of those folders. Or create a new folder somewhere and put only pictures in there that you do want shown.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have further questions.
