Screen Saver settings won't open!

Every time I click on the Screen Saver settings in Settings or even Control Panel, nothing happens! I have a lot of screen savers installed. What is going on? What should I do?

  • The more screensavers you have installed, the longer it will take for the Screen Saver Settings panel to open. However, it should still open eventually, of course!

How many do you have installed? Can you try temporarily uninstalling a few screensavers to see if that makes a difference?

I currently have close to 50 installed and it takes about 5 seconds for it to open.

  • It takes like forever to open for me. I have like over 30 installed. I tried removing some, but still had the same result.

  • So it does eventually open?

I'm not sure why it takes so long when a large number of screensavers is installed. Windows will scan certain folders on the hard drive to collect all the screensavers into a list, but that shouldn't really take all that much time.

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any ways to speed it up apart from removing screensavers.
