i get an error message: Resolution change not successful

Hello Kris,
I'm not familiar with that error, and can only find information on it that's related to Wine, a program used to emulate a Windows environment on other types of operating systems such a Linux and Mac. Are you using Wine here in any way?

Try this...
1.) Removes all previous files of Johnny Castaway.
2.) Go to the Johnny Castaway page and click the Windows 64 bit link.
3.) Download the new installer from that page and run it. It runs on Windows 32 bit and 64 bit and is already per-configured. No need to mess with any settings.
If you still get the same error, then maybe your monitor doesn't support a 640x480 resolution?
