Butterflies
This is a Japanese screensaver from Y. Kawa, featuring 3D butterflies of various colors and sizes flying over a grassy field with flowers. The camera follows the butterflies around, though this behavior can optionally be customized. The screensaver's installation program and settings panel are all in Japanese and question marks may be displayed instead of Japanese characters, which may make it harder to install and configure.

Doesn't seem to work on Win10 Pro. Tries to load and hangs for a long time, then does nothing (then task ends).
Not a stranger to installing and testing JP-only programs on English machines. The .exe is just an archive extractor - it will give you a setup exe, the .scr file, and a txt file. The .scr has editable settings, and the settings menu does in fact work. Just doesn't actually run the screensaver.
Setup.exe seems (not certain) to copy the .scr directly into the system folder (where .scr is normally installed). The text file's uninstall instructions basically say to locate this and delete it (lol) and to optionally delete the reg key it makes ("HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kaw's Software\chomai" or potentially "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kaw's Software\蝶舞").
Installed JP system locale to correctly read the txt file. Tells the following:
Supported environment: Windows 95/98/Me Windows 2000/XP + DirectX5 or later
(A video card that supports hardware acceleration is recommended)
Operation confirmation: Windows 98SE, Windows XP, 2000 (DOS/V compatible)
I'm not sure if there's a fix for whatever the issue is - my personal guess is that DirectX5 is too old for even legacy support. Will come back if I ever get it to run, but I don't think it will. Just too old.
