Fireflies
This screensaver features abstract fireflies that fly around the screen in colorful formations called swarms. These are uniquely and randomly generated every time the screensaver runs. Many of its settings are configurable, including the number of fireflies as well as their speed.

Installation instructions
Apple Mac OS X
- Double-click the file you downloaded, then double-click the "Fireflies.saver" file.
- Click "Install" to complete the installation process.
- The "Fireflies" screensaver should now appear in the Screen Savers panel.

Came back and was able to get it to work - it is a more involved process than normal to get this to run on Windows 10, and it's not consistent (will abruptly stop working/won't relaunch). Additionally, it is one-monitor only. It has a bit of a pixelated look to it (does not scale with your graphics card/setup).
Maybe someone else will get more lucky than me with keeping it running. You can try these things:
- Old DirectX dependencies (look up "directx Jun2010 redist")
- Locate the installed .scr, then enable viewing file extensions. Change it to .exe, run compatibility troubleshooter or change its settings to run in compatibility mode (mine is using Windows Vista on it). Launch it - should open its settings - then just click "OK". Change it back to .scr, and disable file extension viewing again (if you want). Try running it now.
I am doing a combination of these things. I can seem to get it to run about half the time, and for about 10-20 seconds, before it closes out. Can't seem to get far in changing settings, but if you can get it to run, there is quite a LOT of customization.
On 4 screens only works on 1, not for muli monitors
Sorry, it doesn't work in the latest Windows 11 version/update as of March 2, 2024. Using the RTX 3060.

Looks good, but no support for multiple monitors.

looks good, but doesn't work on multiple monitors (only shows on one). Also, had to hit the esc key to close it (moving the mouse, and even clicking, at least on the main monitor, did not stop the screensaver).
Good, but 30 or less fps
