Microcosm
The Microcosm screensaver features a phantasmagoria of gooey geometric shapes with various 3D patterns and vibrant colors against a black background. The screensaver can be customized with various sliders that define the view depth, speed and other settings, and three preset buttons are available: "Regular", "Simple" and "Hyperspace".

reminds me of a lava lamp
Works on all my iMac’s from 2011 iMac High Sierra, 2014 iMac Big Sur, and the new 2023 M2 Mac mini Pro Ventura 13.2.1. Works with all of them. But you have to first select it in screensaver, it’ll say cancel, or put in the trash. Then go to security and privacy in system settings and select towards the bottom, select open anyway. Then go back into screensavers, click on microcosm, and it will say open, move to trash or cancel. Click on open. After that it will work.

It's very beautiful and unusual. Exactly what I was looking for! At first the shapes seemed a little bit blocky, but I just changed the "resolution of geometry" settings to 100 and then it was perfect! Great screen saver!
Broken in Mac OS 10.15.5. Screen Saver Options are not saved when System Preferences are closed. Screen saver works when previewed in System Preferences but if you wait for it to activate, the screen just goes black.
I love this screensaver. It looks like genetics in action.
