How do you find out where in the world the screensaver for today on windows 10 is?

  • If you are looking for the Screen Saver Settings panel, please see this help article:
Where are the screensavers in Windows 10?

Your question refers to "the screensaver for today". Are you, in fact, looking for the Screen Saver Settings panel, where you can find all the screensavers installed on your computer, or are trying to find today's desktop wallpaper (background image)? If the latter, then please also see Screensavers and wallpaper: what's the difference?

  • I think I may have misunderstood your question. If you are referring to the background photograph that Windows 10 displays along with the current time and date when you have been inactive for a period of time and no screensaver is installed, then you can move your mouse over the "Like what you see?" text in the top right of your screen to view the location where in the world the photograph was taken, e.g. "Rome, Italy".

Unfortunately, not all versions of Windows 10 show the "Like what you see?" text.

  • Where are these places that are posted on the Screensavers? I would like to find out as they give you information on them but not where they are located!

  • Which screensaver(s) are you referring to, Lorraine? Each screensaver is made by a different author, and, in the case of slideshows, includes different images. Sometimes they include the location with each photo, but not all of them do.

  • It looks like my Windows 10 was updated recently to include more information about the image currently displayed on the Lock Screen. Try running Windows Update and make sure all updates have been installed if you do not see it just yet.
